Ceramics and care

Here are some general guidelines that refer to most of Marinski products. However, we
recommend you check the maintenance and care guidelines for each specific product in
the web shop. You can find it in the product description.

SINCE MOST OF OUR PRODUCTS ARE
HANDMADE USING LOW FIRE CLAY, THEY
REQUIRE SPECIAL CARE AND LOTS OF LOVE.

We recommend hand-washing using mild detergents straight after use, it will prolong the life of your piece. When washing, use soft side of the sponge.

Avoid leaving cups and mugs in sink or other damp surroundings for longer period because the unglazed parts will soak water an leave stains on the table. Wash the cups/mugs shortly after the use and leave it to dry, preferably upside down.

Due to golden details, Marinski dishes are not suitable for microwaves.
Metals and microwaves do not go well together.

Dirt and stains on unglazed surfaces can be removed with a scrub brush and a bit of baking soda. For stubborn stains, gently sand the surface in a circular motion with a fine-grit sandpaper.

Do not expose the wares to sudden, dramatic shifts in temperature (e.g. place into a hot oven from the freezer) or place over an open flame. In short, handle the ceramics smartly and you will live a long and happy life together.

It is very important (and we highly recommend it) that you let boiling water settle (stop rolling/bubbling) before pouring it into a tableware item – especially a hand made piece. If the item is very cold to the touch, we also suggest pre-heating it with hot tap water. Pouring boiling water directly into a cool handmade cup, bowl or mug may cause the item/glaze to crack.
